Sensory Impairment
- Under 65
Most typically this will relate to either
the deaf or hard of hearing or the blind or partially
sighted.
Many care homes are geared up to make life as comfortable
as possible for those who are hard of hearing or partially
sighted. However, many homes cannot take residents who
are deaf or blind. There are, however, a number of specialist
homes that cater specifically for those who are deaf
or blind.
Deaf or blind people, or those searching on their behalf,
should not limit their search to just these homes, however.
Generally, people who have sensory impairments also
have other care needs, and these overall needs should
all be taken into account when choosing care.
