Nursing Options

Care homes that have qualified nursing staff are registered as a 'Care Home with Nursing' - this replaces the term 'Nursing Home'.

Care homes that don't have qualified nurses on their staff are just known as a 'Care Home'.

Care homes can provide care for people who need nursing care and those who just need general care on the same premises. This used to be known as a 'Dual Registered Care Home' but current registration criteria do not recognise the category.
